Back in 2007 we had policies through Combined Insurance Company. We cancelled several of the policies, because we felt through my husbands VA, we did not need them.

We kept the Accident and Sickness policies because of my husbands work.In March of 2010 my husband was involved in a serious accident. So, I called Combine to get the proper forms for the claim and was told,we had cancelled those policies and kept just one Cancer Policy.I was also told by the customer sales reps.that after 2 years they no longer keep the logged calls. Finally after much debating, I was told that they would try to retrieve the call to verify the canellation of the policies. After several weeks,I recieved a letter to confirm the conversation,But it was not to my advantage. I insisted on talking to the personel that made this decision and was told,She does not take calls.I insisted on a refund for the policies I cancelled in 2007 and have continued to pay on until current.

This is not the only time Combined Insurance has duped a family. It happened to my dad.Where do I go from here?

Going back to the date that you said you Cancel 3 of your policies. Why you did not notice since 2007 the difference in premiun being draft out of your back account??

I'm sure the cost of an accident and sickness policy and the cost of an cancer policy is not the same. How come you did not question the company back them to make sure you did not had the wrone policies inforce? When was the last time you allow an agent reviewed your policies?? I being a pilicy holder for many years and only have great things to say.

My agent stop by my business couple times a year to make sure I understand my bennefits and cover any gaps. I'm sure Combined is not perfect, but it help my family many times.

Here is your problem. we had been paying on a policy for 2 yrs.

and 9 months believing it was the accident poicy we kept.

you dont belive you make sure for what your paying and you make sure in writen what are you paying its like anylegal document.

REMEMBER Insurance policy its kust like anyother thing a legal contract, a unilateral contract. if you dont make sure for what your paying why the should pay for your error.

To Jay, No, back in 2007 we had 4 policies. We cancelled 3 of the policies.

2 were cancer policies and out of 2 accident and sickness, we kept the one accident and sickness on my husband because he was an Over the Trucker.Besides,he is a veteran and recieves most of his treatments through the VA.With us keeping this in mind, we had been paying on a policy for 2 yrs. and 9 months believing it was the accident poicy we kept. After I had contacted the Combined agents to get forms to have filled out, I was then told by not one but two agents I had a cancer policy.I clearly told them they were wrong in regards to the policy. I was also told by both agents, after 2 years, The phone calls that have been recorded from Combined clients are no longer retrievable, Keeping this in mind, It meant my word against theirs. After my third discussion with combined, I was told that someone would try and retieve the cancellation and get back with me. I recieved a letter from an agent named Lisa Hebert, that she reviewed the conversation, that confirmed my cancellation of 2 Accident and sickness and a cancer on me.I have asked for the conversation to be sent to me to examine myself.

I am asking for the following. A confirmation, Other than in writing,or a Refund on the policy that I clearly cancelled.I am not asking them to pay for my husbands accident, Just refund me for the 2 yrs.

and 9 months. that I had already cancelled.

I am not sure I understand this complaint. You received proof by mail that you indeed cancelled a policy and now you are upset that a tragic accident happened after the cancellation and you blame it on the company for not paying after you cancelled?

I am very sorry for your situation and I hope your husband is ok.

Where do you live? It's always best to contact an agent directly that can sit with you face to face and help you. I've been with the company for a while and I guarantee you that you'll get better results this way.

Ann- Combined customers don't have set agents. It is usually a different person every month who comes by to renew the policies.

And when I worked for this company we didn't give out our phone numbers.

It wasn't our job to work claims (our DM would tell us to forget it). We were told to "sell sell sell!"

I would look first to your bank records to confirm that the A&S policies were indeed paid up through the date of the accident.

If you paid for the policies to an agent by check, you should have the cancelled checks.

If you pay by bank draft, your statements over the period in question should reflect that, and most bank statements have a reference number that includes a ortion of the policies involved.

With such records, you can re-contact Combined to request the benefits.
